WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE’RE ALL ABOUT JESUS

SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16; 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12, 13).

PERSON AND WORK OF CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal God who became a man, (John 1:14) lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:21-22), died on a cross, was buried, and physically rose from the grave to redeem humanity from sin (Acts 4:10; Phi 2:7-11; Luke 23:26-24,53). We believe that Jesus will return to earth to judge all people and to rule and reign with His saints forever (Rev 22:12; 2 Tim 4:1).

TOTAL DEPRAVITY OF MAN

We believe God created all humans in his image. He has created them uniquely female and male (Genesis 1:26-27). We believe all humans are sinful and in need of salvation. Salvation is the gift of God brought to humans through grace, and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

GODHEAD

We believe God exists eternally in trinity as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut 6:4; 2 Cor 13:14) We believe the trinity is co-eternal in being, co-eternal in nature, co-equal in power and glory, with each person having the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is God, and the supernatural agent in salvation, baptizing all Christians into the universal Church at conversion, indwelling and sealing them until the day of Christ’s return (John 16:8-11; 2 Cor 3:6, 1 Cor 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18).

ASSURANCE OF BELIEVERS

We believe all those who are redeemed are kept by God’s power and therefore secure in Christ forever (John 6:37–40; 10:27–30; Romans 8:1, 38, 39; 1 Corinthians 1:4–8; 1 Peter 1:5). We believe it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, which clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion for the flesh (Romans 13:13, 14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11–15).

MINISTRIES

WE LOVE SERVING OUR PEOPLE

GRACE CITY KIDS

We partner with parents in discipling children and nurturing a Christ-centred environment where the gospel is proclaimed and lived out in our homes every day. On Sunday’s, we offer Grace City Kids for newborns to Grade 6 at each service in both the North/South Mission. Each week your child will encounter God through teaching, music, and activities to help them grow in a relationship with Jesus.

YOU ARE SENT

We are a sent people and Grace City is a ‘sending church’. We don’t measure ourselves by our seating capacity, but by our sending capacity. If you are interested in local, global, long-term or short-term missions, church planting, or weekly evangelism opportunities in Calgary, we want to hear about what God is calling you to and how we can play a part in equipping you to be sent out for the work of the ministry. CITY GROUPS

We were not meant to walk the journey of faith alone. One of the best ways to connect with others at Grace City and grow in your faith in Jesus is to join a City Group. We have groups that meet in homes on various nights across the city. They typically share a meal together, open the Bible, pray for one another, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. If you’re interested in joining a City Group, let us help connect you by clicking here.

BAPTISMS

Baptism is a profound act of obedience and faith, symbolizing a believer’s commitment to follow Jesus Christ.
It is a public declaration of your faith, identifying yourself in the death, burial and resurrection to new life in
Jesus Christ. As Jesus Himself was baptized and commanded His followers to do the same (Matthew 28:19-20), we view baptism as a vital step of obedience in the Christian journey.
